Our recording system also gives you edit-ready camera files with the audio already synced and matched in. Every camera and microphone feeds into the system as you record, with recordings saved in three places for backup.
Need a remote guest? We pipe them into the studio and into the recording. Want to go live? Hardwired ethernet means you can stream and record simultaneously.
Drop the files into your editor's timeline and they're ready. We upload them to Descript, Frame.io, Dropbox, or straight to your editor before you leave. We also offer editing services if you want us to handle the whole process.

What files do I get after my session?
You receive isolated 4K footage from each camera used in your session and a separate audio file from every microphone. You also get edit-ready camera files with synced audio, so your editor can choose camera angles and work with each voice independently.
What format are the video files and do I need to transcode them?
We deliver MP4 files encoded in H.264. They drop directly into Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Descript with no transcoding required. Each file has audio already synced and matched to the correct camera, so your editor can start cutting immediately.
Can I record multiple podcast episodes in one studio session?
Yes. You can book a full day and record episodes back to back. Many of our recurring clients batch three to four episodes in a single visit. Each episode gets its own set of edit-ready files delivered at the end of the day.
How many people can fit in the studio?
The studio comfortably fits about eight people, up to four on camera and four behind the camera. Our largest set, The Living Room, seats four on-camera guests. For larger productions, contact us to discuss your setup.
Do you provide coaching for people who have never been on camera?
Yes. Our producer has over a decade of experience working with first-time on-camera talent, including executives and CEOs who have never recorded before. We provide guidance on pacing, eye line, mic technique, and delivery so your host looks and sounds confident from the first take.
Can I bring custom branded backdrops or set pieces to the studio?
Absolutely. You can bring branded signage, mugs, props, or custom backdrop colors. You can also ship items to us ahead of time or ask us to order materials on your behalf. For recurring series, we store your props between sessions at no charge.
How noisy is a downtown Seattle recording studio?
The studio has professional sound dampening panels throughout, and occasional city sounds like sirens are rare and brief. When they do happen, we pause for a few seconds and continue. The audio quality from our Shure SM7B microphones and treated room is broadcast-ready.

Where is Sandpiper Studio located and is there parking?
Sandpiper Studio is at 999 3rd Avenue on Madison Street, 7th floor of the Docusign Building in downtown Seattle. There is underground parking in the building with direct elevator access to our floor. We provide $10 daily parking vouchers. The studio is also two blocks from Symphony Station (light rail) and two blocks from the Seattle ferry terminal.
Can I bring my own crew, editor, or makeup artist to the session?
Yes, just let us know beforehand so we can arrange building access. The Docusign Building is a secure building, so all guests need to be pre-approved. There is no extra charge for bringing your own team.
Do unused sessions roll over to the next month?
Recurring sessions don't roll over month to month. What you're paying for with a recurring plan is a locked-in time slot, priority booking, and a lower per-session rate. If your schedule is unpredictable, you can always batch multiple episodes in a single session to get the most out of each visit.
Can I get the raw camera files in addition to the edit-ready versions?
Yes. We hold on to the raw camera files for about a week after your session, at which point they get recorded over. Your synced, edit-ready files are stored longer on our cloud platform. If you want the raw files, just let us know within that first week and we'll get them to you.
